You can do your expedition at Bronze. Silver or Gold on foot, on horseback, by canoe, by bicycle, by wheelchair. The criteria is the same for all expeditions whatever the mode of travel:
Bronze 2days, 1 night 6 hours of planned activity
Silver 3 days, 2 nights 7 hours of planned activity
Gold 4 days, 3 nights 8 hours of planned activity
There are 20 conditions for each expedition; you need to check that your expedition fits these criteria. If you think your expedition may not fit any of the conditions your leader must complete a Variations form and send to the County DofE manager for approval.

If you are an independent participant or cannot fit in with your DofE group’s expedition dates, there are many opportunities to join ‘open’ expeditions. To see the current expeditions that you could join, Click Here:
