WELCOME TO DofE NEWS – THE MONTHLY e-NEWSLETTER FROM THE DofE.

The DofE certainly makes an impact...

In 2007, supported by The Pears Foundation, we commissioned The University of Northampton to carry out a groundbreaking study into the value and impact of the DofE. The results are now available and you can use the findings to promote the DofE, change local perceptions and collect case studies. Download the Executive Summary and briefing for Leaders here.

welcome!

NEW PROGRAMMES PACK

The Programmes Pack is an exciting, bright, visual and innovative new resource to help Leaders support and inspire their participants to choose activities which they are interested in and will enjoy. It’s designed to help all participants, but particularly those at Bronze level when they have no idea what they want to do.

Find out more at www.DofE.org/go/downloads

The pack will be available to order from early March at www.DofEshop.org

IN THE NEWS

Recently we have seen a plethora of DofE stories in the press.

We have been featured in The Times Educational Supplement in Scotland, The Sunday Express ran a fantastic story stating that the DofE is top of a list of activities employers look for on a CV and The Times featured the story that Tesco hopes that applicants to its fast-track 16-plus scheme will work towards a DofE Award.

INFORMING PARENTS

A recent pilot parental survey by Renfrewshire Youth Services showed that 94% of participants talked to their parents about their DofE programme and 100% believed their child enjoyed their activities. 75% of parents noticing a rise in confidence and leadership skills in their son or daughter.

Watch out for a brand new parents' information leaflet, to help you promote the DofE to parents and carers, which is currently in development.
